ASA robotic cell takes over precision work at Otto Lynker

Productivity increase through precise insertion of screws using a robot.

In this production cell, developed by ASA Automation, two parts for the emergency release of an automatic transmission are manufactured: a socket wrench and a housing part. A 6-axis robot M-20i from FANUC takes over the handling of the components from an injection molding machine followed by testing up to the carton packaging.

The challenge with this production cell was to precisely insert the screws using a robot, which can hardly be guaranteed manually over a long period of time. The robot does this task with repeat accuracy and thereby guarantees Otto Lynker constant quality and thus increased productivity.
